Description
Muktinath is a Vishnu temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. It is located in Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang, Nepal. It is one of the world’s highest temples.
To Hindus, Muktinath is a sacred place of salvation. They believe that bathing in the waters here guarantees salvation after death. The Hindu god, Brahma, is said to have lit the eternal flames that burn at Muktinath. To Buddhists, Muktinath is a place where the great sage Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) who brought Buddhism to Tibet, came to meditate. Muktinath Temple is located at an altitude of 3710 meters above sea level and situated 24 km northeast direction of Jomsom, the headquarters of Mustang District.
This tour departs and ends from Pokhara and is provided on an SUV.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pokhara — Jomsom
The tour starts from the beautiful city of Pokhara. We move early morning at 7:00 from Pokhara Tourist Bus Park, towards lakeside, and leave for Jomsom from 0 KM, Pokhara. Overnight Stay at Jomsom on sharing basis.

Day 2: Jomsom — Muktinath — Tatopani
From Jomsom, we take a short road trip to Muktinath Temple and visit the village of Ranipauwa where the temple is located. After the seemingly short visit, we recommend to make this as short as possible because of the altitude. Muktinath Temple is located at a very high altitude and it is not recommended to stay in such low altitudes for longer periods of time as it may cause sickness. We stay at Tatopani(Hot Spring) for the second night.

Day 3: Tatopani — Pokhara
After rejuvenating in the Hot Springs of Tatopani, we depart from there and head back to Pokhara to end this journey.
