There are two hill tops near of Pokhara that offers one of the best views of Sunrise, overlooking the beautiful city on the one side, and the majestic Annapurna Himalayan Range on the other side. We recommend Kahundanda or Sarangkot for the view of sunrise along with Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and the beautiful Mt. Fishtail. The serendipity here are the colors of the sky that changes over the top of the mountains over time, displaying nature in it’s truest form. As the first rays of the sun gradually dissipate darkness in the lower plains of Pokhara valley, the scenery around will simply astound you!

Sarangkot
This 1,592m high range, located on the northern side of Phewa Lake is one of the most popular destinations. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Pokhara Valley, and Phewa lake. Watching the sunrise and sunset from this former Kaski fort is an experience in itself and should not be missed while visiting Pokhara. It is also a thrill to watch paragliders taking off from just below the summit.
Sarang is a traditional dance related to fighting and war where men dance with a sword to the beating of drums. During medieval times, military guards used to live in Sarangkot. The guards from Sarangkot used to visit Kaskikot every day for sarang dance and return the next morning.
Kahundanda
Kahundanda is located 10km to the east of Lakeside. One can see the forked summit of Macchapuchhre and other mountains from this place. Kahundanda is a religious spot where people gather to celebrate festivals like Chaite Dashain and Bada Dashain.
